Surrendering an Animal to Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc.

AVAILABLE SPACE: As of June 28, 2008 we currently have No more space to take in guinea pigs. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We do not always have space in our rescue for new animals, and we therefore do not guarantee that we will have space for your animal. You must recognize that we work entirely out of our home and we cannot take in more animals than we can handle. You will have to email or phone us to find out if we have space.

If we do have space to take your animal, the animal will be well cared for in our home until we find a new home for him or her. We provide high quality food, adequate space, and vet care when necessary. We are a no-kill rescue .

However, in order for us to take your animal, you must provide us with several things in order for us to accept the animal:

-Cage and all accessories
-Appropriate bedding (Care Fresh, Aspen)
-Whatever food was being fed to the animal previously so we can gradually change his or her diet safely.
-Monetary donation (see below)

In addition, you MUST drive the animal to our rescue unless other arrangements are necessary.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to pick animals up all the time.

Only locally.

Minimum required monetary donations are listed below.

ALL FEES ARE PER ANIMAL:

Neutered/Spayed Rabbits: $40
Unaltered Rabbits: $50 for males / $60 for females (to help defray the costs of vet visits, neuters/spays, food, bedding, etc...)
Guinea Pigs: $25
Hamsters/Gerbils/Mice: $8.00 (sometimes less for multiple animals, depending on circumstances)
Chinchillas: $30
Birds: Starting at $20.00 and up the larger the bird

THESE FEES ARE TO HELP US COVER THE COST OF PROPERLY CARING FOR YOUR SURRENDERED PET. WITHOUT THESE FEES WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE OUR MUCH NEEDED RESCUE!  THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!
